    ENGINEERING

    Engineering students create new products and inventions that solve problems. From launching space explorations to delivering safe, clean water to communities, engineers find solutions to pressing problems and turn their ideas into reality.

    The Engineering Academy uses the well-known curriculum of Project Lead the Way (PLTW).  The program’s courses engage students in compelling, real-world challenges that help them become better collaborators and thinkers.

    PUBLIC SAFETY ACADEMY

    The Public Safety Academy provides students with knowledge and experiences in careers that involve public safety. The evolving integration of public safety organizations, their connections with federal and state intelligence and security agencies, interoperability and coordination of effort, and the shared mission to protect the public in a post-9/11 world are areas of emphasis for the pathway. The careers included in this pathway primarily address law enforcement services, homeland and cyber security services, and correctional services.

    Certifications: CPR; FEMA certifications including: Incident command system, Emergency Planning, Active Shooter What You Can Do, An Introduction to Hazardous Materials and Fundamentals of Emergency Management.

    VISUAL MEDIA AND DIGITAL ART

    Students develop their skill and capacity to critique and create art that can be used in commercial settings. Students create mature works of art and animation. Students practice elements of art, illustration, design and advertising layout, production development, web page design, and a working knowledge of computer graphics, as well as a fundamental knowledge in photography and film.

    Converting to a CTE pathway in Fall of 2022. Students will learn how to use voice as a career in music, acting and business, music fundamentals, performance, reading music, sound recording and mixing, electronics and vocal recording, careers that use voice and how to get there

    AIR FORCE JrROTC

    Air Force JrROTC’s mission is to develop citizens of character dedicated to serving their nation and community. Students are never under any obligation to join the military. Air Force JrROTC is designed to educate and train high school cadets in citizenship, promote community service, and instill personal responsibility, character, and self-discipline. In the classroom, students learn air and space fundamentals. There are multiple after-school opportunities for competitions and service.

    Certifications: First Aid, CPR, Survival training, flight training

    eBUSINESS ACADEMY

    The eBusiness Academy provides instruction that prepares students for work in offices and for-profit companies. Instruction includes electronic business skills using Microsoft Office (students can earn professional certifications in Microsoft Office). Students also learn the basics of personal finance, develop techniques for making wise consumer decisions, study economic principles, and learn how small, medium, and large private businesses operate. Students complete projects that emphasize management, marketing, finance, accounting, and entrepreneurship.

    Certifications: Microsoft Office User Certifications in Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Barista certification, Customer Service certification

    COMMERCIAL AND INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC

    Converting to a CTE pathway in Fall of 2022. Students will learn how to play a variety of instruments, reading music, performance band, orchestration, leadership specifically as they can be used in the music performance and production industries. Students learn to digitally record and produce music for use in commercials and videos.

    PRODUCTION, PERFORMANCE AND TECHNICAL THEATER

    Students develop career skills in acting, performance, performance appreciation, history of theater, technical theater arts like lighting and sound, organizing events and plays, theater management, student leadership. Theater arts is not currently a CTE pathway, but plans are in the works for certifying as a CTE pathway in Fall of 2023 or sooner.
