Videography Request Form

The following guidelines must be followed before submitting a videography request:

  • Please check to make sure that all students who will be videotaped have parent permission in the BU-5.
  • Please provide a general overview of the video you envision, along with a suggested filming date. Your vision will help guide the videographer’s work.
  • All videography requests must enclose a suggested filming deadline and a final video deadline.
  • All videography requests must enclose a script outline and the length of the final video, as you envision it. Please also include information about the audience that will view the video and where you intend to show it. Videos are intended to be viewed by an audience of 1,000 or more. Please state how you will track the number of views.
  • Except in specific circumstances, the final product must not exceed five minutes. The videographer, in consultation with the Communications director and/or Communications officer, may adjust the length of the final video, as appropriate.
  • The names of all video participants must be submitted along with your videography request.
  • Videography requests must be submitted a minimum of two weeks before the filming date.
  • Videography requests will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis. Videography requests will be evaluated, and not all requests may be accommodated. *Some exceptions may apply based on priority.
  • Weekend and evening videography requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Requests to film on the first and third Tuesday of each month will not be considered because they conflict with Board of Education meetings.
  • When submitting a videography request, please provide the name of the person(s) who will serve as assistants to the District videographer.
  • Assistants are needed to help the videographer with moving equipment from location to location during filming.
  • Once filming has ended, a draft of the video will be shared with the requester, who will have one opportunity to make editing suggestions.
  • Editing suggestions must be provided within five days.
  • If you would like an event to be included in the District’s Year of Achievements video, please submit only one event per year. Once the videographer has visited your site for this purpose, you may submit still photos of additional events for possible inclusion in the Year of Achievements video.
  • Indicate the final format for the video, such as .avi file, .mov file.
  • All videography requests must abide by these guidelines and timelines. Failure to do so will impact future requests.
