It's Nomination Time for the 2020 Character Education Award!


Purpose
The Character Education Award (formerly the Duncan Webb Award) honors teachers in San Bernardino public schools for instilling good values in their students.

Selection
Principals of San Bernardino City Unified Schools are asked to nominate one teacher and describe how that teacher supports and instills character education in the classroom. A panel of judges from the five area Rotary Clubs evaluate the nominees, and the top five are identified as finalists. The top-ranked finalist is honored as the Character Education Award winner.

  1. Fill in the name of the nominee, school, and principal. This paper will be separated from the nomination papers and the judges will not see it.
  2. Nominate only one teacher. Past receipts of the Character Education Award should not be nominated.
  3. Provide specific examples of the methods used to teach character education in the classroom and which character traits are taught.
  4. Remember that the teachers are judged on their teaching of character education. We are not looking for the best teacher o the best individual, rather the teacher  who does the best job teaching character education.
  5. To be eligible for consideration by the selection committee, the nomination must be emailed to [email protected] or delivered to the District's Communications Office, 4030 Georgia Blvd., by NOON on Friday, March 20, 2020.
