|Welcome to Thompson Elementary!
Dear Tiger Parents,
Welcome to the 2012-13 school year!!!! What a great year it will be. We anticipate that all of our students will enjoy learning and have a blast at school all year long. Our main goal at Thompson is to make this a successful year for your child. Your active support and cooperation, combined with our best professional efforts, will ensure academic success for our students.
We are extremely proud of our educators, staff, students and parents here at Thompson. Working together, we have given our students motivation to reach higher and learn more in their academic pursuits. We want to continue to build our strong school-community relations. We invite you to continue to be involved at Thompson. Please visit our classrooms, student awards assemblies, and parent meetings. As parents, you play a major role in the success of our school.
Our theme for this year is: Keeping our Kids Learning! With parents and teachers working together as a team, towards the same goals, all of our students will learn. In order to keep our kids learning, we ask that we keep children first in all that we do. When it comes to school attendance, completing homework, preparing for tests, or displaying great behavior, we all must teach our kids the importance of doing their best. We must also be examples. Kids learn best from what they see, rather than what they hear.
It is my intention as principal to have an ongoing positive contact with your child. On most days, I will be on the playground during recess, visiting classrooms, eating lunch with students, supervising arrival and dismissal. I believe it’s very important for me to build relationships with my students. If you ever need to speak with me about anything, please don’t hesitate at all. I will make time to respond to your needs. I see close communications as an opportunity to better serve our students.
We look forward to working together as partners in learning.
