My name is Maria Cleppe and I have been the counselor at Jones Elementary School since October 2007.  Prior to being a counselor, I was a classroom teacher for 15 years.

My mission is to ensure that all students acquire high levels of academic success by addressing the emotional, cultural, intellectual, and attendance needs of all the students.

Some of my main duties include personal and group counseling, academic follow-up, attendance progress, collaboration with teachers, organizing Red Ribbon Week, and presenting lessons for the Too Good for Violence Program.

Our school will have a new schedule this year. Please check your beginning-of-the-year package for the Modified Traditional schedule.

Attendance is an important issue and there is a detailed explanation of the consequences for those students who are absent. Parent support is  greatly appreciated.
