Hi! Welcome to my page.

I have been teaching for 26 years!  I started my career in Colton at Wilson Elementary School and moved to San Bernardino after a year there.

I taught for many years at Monterey Elementary School and have been here at Kendall for about 18 years. I am now teaching the children of previous students and that is a fun!   I have taught at a variety of preschools.   In the public schools, I have taught kindergarten, first, second and third grades, but my passion is for kindergarten. 

I hear all the time about teachers getting “burned out” and I don’t understand it.  I LOVE teaching kindergarten.  There is not a day that goes by, that I am not grateful for the career that I have chosen and the job that I have. 

I have high expectations for my students and they always meet and often exceed them.  I love that they come in not even knowing alphabet letters and in a few months they are actually reading. I still cry every time a child decodes his/her first word.  There is no greater job in the world!

A few fun facts about me:

1.       I love to travel and have been all over the world.

2.      I hold a brown belt in tang soo do karate.

3.      I am an avid reader!

4.      I used to write a weekly educational column for a newspaper.

5.      I am learning to quilt.
