Dear Parents,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and welcome you back to another great year at Riley Elementary School. It is an honor and a privilege to have been selected to serve as the principal of Riley School. I have been an employee in the San Bernardino City Unified School District for the past four years. I have held various positions including Classroom Teacher, US Department of Education Title III Grant Coordinator, Literacy Specialist, Vice Principal and Principal. I just recently completed my second year as a Principal at Vermont Elementary School.
I believe that in order for our students to achieve highly it is imperative that we work together. The staff at Riley School is committed to building a positive home school relationship. One of my priorities will be to develop strong school community partnership that will focus on promoting excellence in education. I am big on letting our students know about the benefits of going to college, and on having lots of high achieving students at my school. I welcome your ideas and invite you to come by and meet me during the first month of school. Early in the year I will host a parent-community meeting to get to know you and to promote a venue for positive discussion, dialogue and parent involvement.
I want you to know that it is my intention to be very active and visible at the school. A major focus for me will be on further developing the strong teams that you have in place here at Riley elementary. I look forward to working closely with you and your children to ensure a successful 2012 - 2013 school year.

Estimados Padres,
Me gustaría tomar este tiempo para introducirme y darles la bienvenida a otro gran año en la Escuela Primaria Riley. Siento gran honor y gusto haber sido elegido nuevo director de la Escuela Primaria Riley. He trabajado en el Distrito de la Ciudad de San Bernardino por los últimos cuatro años. En el pasado he trabajado en varias posiciones incluyendo la de maestro, la de Coordinador de una Beca Federal Escolar, la de Especialista en Alfabetización, Sub Director y Director. Recientemente terminé mi segundo año como Director de la Escuela Vermont.
Yo creo firmemente que para que nuestros estudiantes triunfen es muy importante que nosotros trabajemos juntos. El personal de la Escuela Primaria Vermont esta comprometido en desarrollar esa colaboración. Una de mis prioridades será fortalecer la colaboración comunitaria para promover excelencia en nuestra educación. Yo creo firmemente que es importante dejarles saber a los alumnos de los beneficios de una educación universitaria, y en que podemos tener muchos alumnos con grandes alcances académicos en esta escuela. Les doy la bienvenida a sus ideas y los invito a que venga a hablar conmigo el primer mes de clases. Pronto tendré una junta para los padres y la comunidad en la cual espero conocerlos mejor y comenzar nuestro trabajo juntos este nuevo año.
Quiero dejarles saber que es mi intención estar muy activo en el plantel. Mi meta es trabajar a diario con padres, alumnos y maestros en la escuela. Mi mayor meta este año será fortalecer los equipos de trabajo que existen en la escuela Riley. Me da gusto poder trabajar con ustedes y sus hijos/as para asegurar un próspero año escolar 2011 – 2012.
