COMBINATION WELDER/OXYACETYLENE, SMAW, GMAW, AND FCAW

This course provides hands-on-welding. Shop safety and proper use of equipment and materials are covered in the class. Students provide their own protective clothing and miscellaneous items (approximate cost is $200). TIG is available to advanced welders.

COMBINATION WELDER / LOS ANGELES CITY WRITTEN EXAMINATION PREPARATION

This course prepares students to take the written and manipulative parts of the L.A. City welding certification test. Students should plan to purchase D1.1 Structural Welding Code-Steel book for this class ($484.00). Students need to enroll in two quarters of this class to complete all materials. It is recommended that persons enrolled in this class also enroll in M, W, Th, F or Sat classes for hands-on application.

CERTIFICATION: SMAW/ FCAW / GMAW / LIGHT GUAGE

This course covers horzonal, vertical and overhead welding, as well as simulations of groove welds in limited and unlimited thickness.  The certification test plates are part of the licensing requirements for the Los Angeles City and/or San Bernardino certifications

COMBINATION WELDER / FABRICATION

This course covers basic skills in fabrication involving: Simulations of  Tee Joints, Single Bevels, and Vee Groves in the flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions. Class covers hands-on projects including layout and fit up tubing (hand rails), I-beams, channel, angle iron, and plate steel.

COMBINATION WELDER/CERTIFICATION TESTS

Structural SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, AND LGS Combination Welder class sections prepare students for welding certification. San Bernardino City certification requires only manipulative proficiency. Students desiring the Los Angeles City certification must demonstrate manipulative proficiency and also complete a written examination. Written examination preparation is offered on Tuesday evenings.
